Police Officer Shawn Newlin 
Clayton County Police DepartmentGeorgia
Officer Newlin succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident five days earlier while escorting a funeral procession. He sustained serious injuries when he struck the rear-end of a vehicle on Tara Boulevard, near Sherwood Drive.
He was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital where he remained until succumbing to his injuries.
Officer Newlin had served with the Clayton County Police Department for only 9 months. He is survived by his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

Police Officer David Young 
Florence Police Department Alabama
Officer David Young was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol at approximately 11:50 am. 
Another vehicle pulled out in front of him, forcing him to lay his motorcycle down. The motorcycle slid into the vehicle and both vehicles burst into flames.  Officer Young was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to an area hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening.  Officer Young had served with the Florence Police Department for 14 years. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Patrolman Christopher Mirabal 
New Mexico State Police New Mexico
Patrolman Christopher Mirabel was killed in a motorcycle accident on North Scenic Avenue in Alamorgodo. His department motorcycle struck a curb and then a tractor trailer that was parked on the roadway.
Patrolman Mirabel had served with the New Mexico State Police for 9 years. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

Police Officer Dayle Weston (Wes) Hardy 
Plano Police Department Texas
Officer Dayle Hardy was killed when his police motorcycle collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Independence Parkway and Russell Creek Drive.
He was transported to Baylor Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Officer Hardy had served with the Plano Police Department for 8 years and had previously served with the Wise County Sheriff's Office for 4 years. He is survived by his wife and twin 3-year-old daughters.

Officer Germaine Casey 
Rio Rancho Police Department New Mexico
Officer Germaine Casey succumbed to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident providing an escort for President George W. Bush. The accident occurred as the motorcade returned to Kirtland Air Force Base.
As the motorcade rounded a curve Officer Casey's motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was treated by officers and medical personnel on the scene and then transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where he died.
Officer Casey had served with the Rio Rancho police department for 2 years and had previously served with the University of New Mexico Police Department. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Police Officer David Camden 
Temple Police Department Texas
Officer David Camden was killed in a motorcycle accident on North 8th Street while providing a funeral escort. 
As he traveled from one intersection to another, one of the vehicles in the procession turned left in front of him while attempting to exit the procession.
Officer Camden's motorcycle collided with the vehicle and he was thrown from the bike. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
Officer Camden had served with the Temple Police Department for 11 years, and had previously served as an auxiliary officer with the Belton Police Department for 3 years. He is survived by his wife, two sons, parents, sister, and two brothers.
