March 11, 1976 Patrolman Michael T. Smith Jefferson County Police Department, KY Patrolman Smith was killed in a motorcycle accident at Minors Lane and Ireland Drive while attempting to catch up to a speeding motorist. Another vehicle pulled out in front of his motorcycle, causing a collision.

November 4, 1976 Constable Paul Gosling  Metro Toronto Police Ontario Constable Gosling was accidentally killed while riding a police motorcycle on Islington Avenue at Winnipeg Road.

December 26, 1976 Officer Wyant was killed when his police motorcycle was struck by a delivery truck.  Officer Wyant had been with the agency for nine years and was survived by his wife, daughter and two sons.
