He had been on the force for 2 years and in the traffic section only 2 months. As a result of this accident, the Police Service ordered that safety Helmets were to be worn by all motorcycle officers. |

Another vehicle made an illegal left turn in front of the officers, causing the collision. Both officers had lights and sirens on at the time.
