January 01, 1954 Officer George Muriset Pomona Police Department, CA Officer Muriset was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1954 while on patrol on Reservoir Street. He entered a portion or road which was covered in fog and struck a vehicle which was backing out of a driveway. The exact date of the incident is unknown. Officer Muriset had been with the agency for four years.

January 26, 1954 Patrolman A. G. Bush Bartow Police Department, FL Patrolman Bush was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to a call for service. Another vehicle turned in front of his motorcycle causing a collision.

February 4, 1954 Officer Edward H. Berry Indianapolis, IN Officer Edward H. Berry was killed on February 4, 1954, while in pursuit of a traffic violator.  Officer Berry's motorcycle collided with another vehicle at 1600 N. Harding Street.

May 19, 1954 Patrolman William R. Sellers Nassau County Police Department, NY Patrolman Sellers was killed in a motorcycle accident when the front wheel of his police motorcycle fell off. He was driving on the Northern State Parkway when the accident occurred. He was tranpsorted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

June 19, 1954 Constable Kenneth Lennon Etobicoke Township Police, Ontario  Constable Lennon was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with another vehicle

June 22, 1954 Policeman John E. Dunphy Los Angeles Police Department, CA Policeman Dunphy was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

August 08, 1954 Patrolman Louis A. Barney Joliet Police Department, IL Patrolman Barney succumbed to injuries received three days earlier when he was involved in an on-duty motorcycle accident. He was assisting with a special traffic detail during the Pageant of Progress when his motorcycle struck the rear left corner of a truck. Patrolman Barney was able to walk away from the accident but suffered a subdural hemorrhage later that evening. He remained in critical condition until he succumbed to his injuries. Patrolman Barney was a WWII veteran and had been with his agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife, two daughters, parents, and two siblings.

September 23, 1954 Police Officer Mercer E. Weiskotten, Syracuse (NY) PD, Officer Weiskotten was killed at Salt Springs Rd. and Melbourne Ave., when his police motorcycle was struck by another vehicle as he attempted to stop a speeding car.

November 17, 1954 Constable George Constantineau  Ottawa Police Ontario Constable Constantineau had just completed a motorcycle escort at the French Embassy. He was returning to the station when crossing the newly opened Bytown Bridge. His motorcycle struck an 8" curb and he was thrown and struck his head which resulted in his death. The bridge had only been opened 12 hours and this was the second accident.
