March 25, 1951 Police Officer Donald O. Nielson Oakland Police Department, CA Officer Nielson was killed in a motorcycle accident at 149th Street and MacArthur Boulevard. He swerved to avoid striking a turning car and was thrown to the ground. Officer Nielson had been with the agency for four years and was survived by his expectant wife and two children.

April 05, 1951 Policeman Thomas J. Kennedy Los Angeles Police Department, CA Policeman Kennedy was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

May 26, 1951 Trooper Emil J. Bock New Jersey State Police, NJ Trooper Bock was killed in a motorcycle accident while patrolling State Highway 41 in Kresson. He had been with the agency for six months.

July 24, 1951 Patrolman Albert P. Poltie New York City Police Department, NY Officer Poltie was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty. He was assigned to the 94th Precinct.

August 19, 1951 Cadet J. Harold Hanson CHP - Academy Halstead  Cadet J. Harold Hanson was negotiating a curve during a motorcycle training exercise when an oncoming motorist, driving close to the center divider, caused the cadet to veer away sharply and lose control. Hanson’s motorcycle skidded in loose gravel and the cadet was thrown to the ground. Hanson, 36, died almost instantly. Cadet Hanson, like all cadets in that era, was sworn in when he reported for training.  After 1977 recruits were classified as "state traffic officer cadets" for training purposes and did not become sworn officers until Academy graduation.

August 27, 1951 Trooper Stanley A. Conn Jr. New Jersey State Police, NJ Trooper Conn was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol. He had been with the agency for 13 months.

September 05, 1951 Police Officer George F. Jefferis Camden Police Department, NJ Officer Jefferis was killed when his police motorcycle was struck by another vehicle. He had been with the agency for 25 years and was survived by his wife and one child.

September 19, 1951 Police Officer Marvin Siebert Oakland Police Department, CA Officer Siebert was killed in a motorcycle accident when a vehicle turned in front of him at 73rd Avenue and San Leandro Street. He had been with the agency for four years.
