Officer McMurry succumbed to injuries received in a motorcycle accident several months before. The exact date of the accident is not known. He was responding to the scene of an accident at night time when the headlight on his bike suddenly went out. He lost control in the darkness. He required several months of treatment and succumbed to his injuries after a second operation.

On March 12, 1934 while on motorcycle patrol in Sunnyside, Toronto, PC Lemon had stopped a vehicle and as he turned to walk to the rear of the vehicle, he was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling westbound. He had transferred from the Department of Highway Motorcycle Patrol in 1930.

Deputy Ward was killed in a motorcycle accident while attempting to overtake a car on Highway 200. He was attempting to pull a vehicle over when his motorcycle hit sand in the roadway, causing it to go out of control.
Deputy Ward had been hired only ten days earlier, because of his motorcycle experience, to combat speeders on county highways. He was survived by his daughter, mother, sister, and brother.

Patrolman Murphy and Patrolman Edward Wheeler were shot and killed on Easter Sunday by the notorious outlaws Bonnie and Clyde. The two patrolmen had stopped their motorcycles thinking a motorist needed assistance. As they approached the vehicle the two outlaws opened fire with a shotgun and handgun, killing both officers.

The Bonnie and Clyde Gang was responsible for the murder of law enforcement officers in four states - Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas - between 1932 and 1934. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow started their criminal career by robbing banks and quickly became notorious murderers wanted for the murders of nine law enforcement officers.

The two criminals were finally shot and killed in Louisiana when they were ambushed by a task force of Texas and Louisiana officers.

Officer Kuhn was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol near Salisbury, Maryland. The sidecar on his motorcycle struck the rear of a wagon without tail lights. He was thrown from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.
Officer Kuhn had been with the agency for just under two years

Jersey City Police Department, NJ
Patrolman Carroll was killed when his police motorcycle struck a traffic booth after he was cutoff by another vehicle.
Patrolman Carroll's son, Sergeant Donald Carroll, was shot and killed in the line of duty in 1986 while serving with the same department.

Trooper Kozlak was killed in a motorcycle accident on Highway 52 near Osseo, Minnesota. He had been with the agency for eight months and was survived by his wife and daughter.

California Highway Patrol, CA
Officer Francis J. Perry was flung into a tree after both tires of his motorcycle blew while he was patrolling along Fair Oaks Boulevard near the H Street Bridge in Sacramento. The 28-year-old patrol officer had been a member of the CHP for three years.

Officer Hugh C. Cline
California Highway Patrol, CA
Officer Hugh C. Cline was patrolling at night along the Roosevelt Highway just north of Santa Monica Boulevard when he collided with an automobile. Cline, 33, was thrown from his motorcycle. sustained critical injuries and died the following day.

Officer A. Donald Hoover was traveling along the Santa Cruz-Watsonville Highway, on a stretch known to locals as "Slaughterhouse Curve," when his motorcycle collided with an automobile that pulled out from a side road and turned in front of the patrolman. Hoover, 31, sustained critical injuries and died without regaining consciousness.  Officer Hoover was a distant relative of Herbert Hoover, the former President of the United States.

Police Officer Guy Berry died in a motorcycle accident while reporting for duty

Officer First Class Carroll C. Creeger
Maryland State Police, MD
Officer Creeger was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol on Sykesville-West Friendship Road in Howard County. His motorcycle struck a patch of ice and he was thrown to the ground.
Officer Creeger had been with the agency for just over three years.

Officer Raymond V. Sinclair

Officer Sinclair was killed when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle which attempted to make a left turn on Bladensburg Road, NE. Officer Sinclair was in the process of passing the vehicle on the left at the time of the accident.
Eight years earlier, in 1926, Officer Sinclair made 3,482 arrests and got convictions in all but 13 of them. He had been with the agency for nine years and was survived by his wife.
