Ontario Department of Highways, Ontario On the afternoon of January 12, 1928 Officer O'Callaghan was patrolling the highway between Ottawa and Kemptville near Watterson's Corners, when his motorcycle was involved in a head on collision with a delivery truck. Officer O'Callaghan died instantly from his injuries. At the time
of his death Officer O'Callaghan was survived by his wife and six children.

Indianapolis police Motorcycle Officer William Mueller was killed in an apparent accident on March 2, 1928, when he was thrown backwards off his motorcycle. Mueller and his partner were investigating a hit-and-run accident, and the two were following the suspected perpetrator into an alley between Buchanan and East Streets when Mueller was thrown from his motorcycle and killed. Officer Mueller had joined the force in January 1912 and had been on the motorcycle squad for eight years. |

Pennsylvania Highway Patrol, PA Patrolman Miller was killed when his motorcycle skid on the streetcar tracks. He was thrown from the motorcycle to the street where he died. Patrolman Miller had been with the agency for seven months and was survived by his parents. |

Police Officer George E. Caldwell, Syracuse (NY) PD Officer Caldwell was killed in a motorcycle accident while attempting to stop a speeding vehicle. Another vehicle turned in front of his motorcycle at the intersection of Lodi Street and Court Street. Officer Caldwell was able to avoid colliding with that vehicle but struck another vehicle. |

Point Pleasant Police Department, NJ Marshal Johnson was killed in a motorcycle accident while responding to the scene of an emergency. He had been with the agency for one year. |

New York State Police, NY Corporal Dolphin was injured when he was thrown from his police motorcycle when it struck a pothole in Valhalla on July 27, 1928. Corporal Dolphin died from his injuries on August 6, 1928. Corporal Dolphin had been with the agency for three years. |

Pennsylvania Highway Patrol, PA Patrolman Proof was killed while attempting to apprehend a speeding motorist on Route 826, Jackson Township, Tioga County. Patrolman Proof lost control of his motorcycle and struck a bridge abutment. He died the next day from his injuries. Patrolman Proof had been with the agency for 18 months and was survived by his parents |

New York State Police, NY Died of a gunshot wound in the back, which occurred on the Tuxedo-Greenwood Lake Highway, in the Town of Tuxedo. A deputy Sheriff of New York County was changing a flat tire on his personal car when he saw Trooper Wilder lying on the road next to his motorcycle. Approximately eight inches from Trooper Wilder's head was a torn neck tie. This tie was the only piece of physical evidence ever found. A passerby stopped and took Trooper wilder to the hospital where he later died. Trooper Wilder never identified his killer(s) |

Montgomery County Police Department, MD Patrolman Case succumbed to injuries received the night before when his police motorcycle struck the rear of a car which had stopped in the middle of Rockville Pike. The two occupants of the vehicle were switching drivers when the accident occurred. The two men placed Patrolman Case in their car and immediately drove him to the hospital. The men were never charged. |
