Officer Hart was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

Patrolman Harold Ormsby
New York City Police Department, NY
Patrolman Ormsby was killed when his Motorcycle stuck a police booth and he was thrown to the ground, while in pursuit of a violator. Patrolman Ormsby attempted to stop the motorist and when he increased his speed Patrolman Ormsby gave chase. As they entered the turn near Fort Hamilton Parkway the suspect’s car tilted over on two wheels and Patrolman Ormsby was traveling at such a speed that he was unable to control his motorcycle in the turn and crashed. The Patrolman Manning the booth that Patrolman Ormsby crashed into rushed him to the hospital, but Patrolman Ormsby died of his injuries. 
Patrolman Ormsby had been with the agency for 10 years

Trooper Weber was killed in a motorcycle accident on Boston Post Road in Wakefield. He was leaving the agency's new training facility when his police motorcycle struck the side of a passing automobile.

Trooper James B. Losco
New York State Police, NY
Trooper Losco was killed in a motorcycle accident. At the time of the accident, Trooper Losco was passing an oil truck on Clinton Street in Gardenville, when a tire on his motorcycle blew out. Trooper Losco was unable to regain control of his cycle and it crashed into a bus approaching from the opposite direction.

Officer William Wickman 
Tacoma Police Department Washington
Officer Wickman was killed in a motorcycle accident while pursuing a vehicle on Union Avenue. Another vehicle turned in front of him at 68th Street, causing a collision. Officer Wickman was thrown to the ground and suffered fatal injuries. 

Officer Wickman had served with the Tacoma Police Department for only 10 months.

Motorcycle Deputy Clarence Henry LaCroix
Macomb County Sheriff's Office, MI
Deputy LaCroix was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol. His motorcycle struck a vehicle which turned in front of him, throwing him into a deep ditch.
Deputy LaCroix was survived by his wife and two children.

Maine State Police, ME
Patrolman Foster was killed when his police motorcycle struck a horse while he was on patrol. He had only been with the agency for two months.

Motorcycle Officer Truman E. Brooks
Little Valley Police Department, NY
Officer Brooks died during a serious motorcycle accident. He was rushing to the scene of an emergency in dense fog when his police motorcycle crashed into the rear of a car parked on the side of the road.
Officer Brooks was survived by his wife and three children

Patrolman Gerald D. Pickett
Des Moines Police Department, IA
Patrolman Pickett was killed in a motorcycle accident while on routine patrol. As he approahced an intersection a sand truck turned directly in front of him. Patrolman Pickett struck the truck, suffering severe head and internal injuries which he succumbed to later in the evening.
Patrolman Pickett had been with the agency for two years.

Patrolman Hahn was killed in a motorcycle accident while operating a department motorcycle. He had been with the agency for five months.

Trooper Phillip E. Gonterman
New York State Police, NY
Trooper Gonterman was killed when his motorcycle struck a tree at the intersection of Jefferson and Hubble Streets in the Village of Pulaski. Trooper Gonterman was attempting to overtake a stolen vehicle when a second car pulled from a side street into his path. He swerved his motorcycle to avoid the car, lost control and crashed. 
Trooper Gonterman had been with the agency for two years

Officer Albert E. Cramblitt
Maryland State Police, MD
Officer Cramblitt was killed in a motorcycle accident while in pursuit of a suspected bootlegger on Washington Boulevard near Laurel, Maryland. Another truck turned in front of him, causing him to collide with the truck at an estimated 55 mph.
Officer Cramblitt had been with the agency for only six months.

Patrol Inspector Ross A. Gardner
United States Border Patrol, US
Inspector Gardner was killed in a motorcycle accident while returning to Elsinore, California, from San Diego, California, for a temporary duty assignment. He was riding a government motorcycle which had taken to San Diego to get repaired. He struck the rear of a stalled vehicle which was parked in a travel lane and had no lights on.
Inspector Gardner had been with the agency for ten months.

Constable Fredrick Raynes
Hamilton Police  Ontario Canada
On November 21, 1925, Police Constable Fredrick Raynes was proceeding east on King Street on his police motorcycle. He was responding to notify a family that their son had been arrested in Guelph.  Upon encountering slow traffic on King Street, he attempted to stop his vehicle. His motorcycle's side-car struck a car stopped ahead. He was hurled out of his seat into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Constable Raynes sustained serious head injuries and died later that evening.

Officer Koontz was killed in a motorcycle accident while chasing a speeding car on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, in front of the City Post Office. Another officer riding in the motorcycle's sidecar was only slightly injured.
